A: GEMINI MARINE has been trading since 1979, delivering the most reliable, safest and softest riding quality RIBs and Inflatable boats on the market. A mark of our reputation is that GEMINI is the official supplier of Rescue RIBs & Inflatables to the National Sea Rescue Institute of South Africa (NSRI)
8 REASONS TO BUY A GEMINI RIB
1. Every GEMINI is built using the finest materials sourced from the most reliable and trusted suppliers worldwide.
2. GEMINI pontoons are made from heavy duty Hypalon – the experts’ choice in building quality long lasting RIBs. HYPALON is the standard material for all the best inflatable boat builders.
3. GEMINIs have a higher payload due to their increased deck space & larger pontoons.
4. The GEMINI derives its superb offshore capabilities from a deep V Hull with a full bow and convex hullform. This makes for a soft, stable, comfortable and reassuring ride. All GEMINIs meet our stringent quality requirements and have been tested in the notorious Cape of Storms at the southern tip of Africa.
5. A GEMINI RIBs high centre of buoyancy and low centre of gravity result in a boat with exceptional stability.
6. All GEMINIs are quick to plane and are easily driven, needing lower power for higher performance meaning greater efficiency, lower running costs and a greener environment
7. GEMINI’s intrinsic quality & reliability make it the boating brand with the best resale value and lowest maintenance requirements.
8. GEMINI’s range of boats extends from RIBs to full inflatables and from 5 m to 10.6min size, meaning GEMINI will have a boat to suit your every need.

A: Most Quality RIBs today are manufactured with Hypalon tubes; however smaller sized boat manufactures often use PVC because it is cheaper. However, professional Institutes worldwide (coastguards, extreme ops, anti-terrorism units, water police, UK Sea Rescue, NSRI) insist upon and use only Hypalon. Hypalon has long been the best and only fabric to use in quality manufactured products. It is:
1. Immensely strong
2. Wear resistant
3. Waterproof and air tight
4. Immune to hazards of sunlight, ozone, fuel, oil, acids and contaminants.
5. More durable than PVC
6. Easier to resell
7. Resilient even in extreme heat
For GEMINI, Hypalon is the obvious choice.

A: Yes. RIBs and Inflatable boats are seen as the most stable and safest boats in the world. Baffles inside the tubes, with separate and wider tube compartments, means enhanced levels of safety. The reputation of GEMINI RIBs & inflatables for safety means that they now set the worldwide standard for professional use by the military, coast guard and other rescue agencies. Also the nature of the GEMINI design means that when boat is stationary, the pontoons rest in the water, resulting in a stable platform.

A: Ideal for fishing, diving, waterskiing, or any number of water-based pleasure past times.
A Gemini RIB is safer and more stable than any other vessel.
A Gemini RIB is lighter than most boats and therefore uses less fuel; in return you’ll get better performance and enjoyment.
Inflatable side tubes act as flotation devices as well as fenders so when you need to pull alongside another boat there won’t be damage and for swimming it’s easier to climb back onboard with lower sides.
When riding in a choppy sea state the tubes act as cushions taking the side impact of swell to give you a more comfortable and drier ride.

▪ Tighten all valves
▪ Use a soapy water mixture (dishwashing liquid) in a spray bottle, then spray or brush your inflatable while it is inflated.
▪ Watch for small bubbles to appear.
▪ Mark the leak location for repair.
▪ If leak is serious rather contact our authorised repair agent here

A: Optimal operating pressure for most of GEMINI’s boats are +- 0.25 of a BAR. If you do not have pressure release valves, remember to keep the pressure in your boat constant. As the temperature rises so will the pressure in your tubes/pontoons.
-
A: Safety at sea is fundamental. Weight is not the only factor – passenger space, safe seating and evacuation are all considerations. GEMINI makes such recommendations in consultation with our safety experts and quality standards. To ensure you adhere to maritime rules and insurance requirements, please always follow the manufacturer’s advice.

A: Inflatable boats and RIBs are said to be the safest and most stable boats in the world. GEMINI’s tried, tested and proven design and construction means that GEMINI RIBs and inflatable offer extra floatation. Our multiple chambers in the pontoons/tubes means that if 1 compartment gets punctured the others will stay inflated ensuring buoyancy and safety. Our reputation for safety means GEMINI inflatable boats and RIBs are now the standard for use by the military, coast guard and other rescue agencies worldwide.

A: Rib & Inflatable Boat manufacturers use two general types of coated materials – synthetic rubber (Hypalon or neoprene) or plastic polymers (PVC). If you can see both sides of the material (from a tear, loose seam or by removing a valve), you will be able to tell the difference. If the two sides of the material are different colours, it’s probably Hypalon or neoprene. If the colors are the same, it’s likely to be PVC. Or contact us with your boat serial number and we will trace the necessary information on your boat for you.
-
A: Yes, Control insures safety. The manufacturers’ recommended maximum HP ratings are given for good reasons and not only to avoid excess weight over the Transom. Using an over rated HP engine can lift your boat to the point where sufficient planing surface is lessened causing an unstable situation. Excess speed on any model can also cause loss of control.

A: GEMINI has an extensive range of boats from RIBs to Full Inflatables. Our boats range in size from 3.1m up to 8.5m in length. The boats are designed for a variety of uses and activities. The size of GEMINI you choose depends on how many people will be boating with you and where you plan on boating. Some questions you should consider:
▪ What will you be using your boat for?
▪ Are you looking for a boat designed for family boating?
▪ Do you want a boat for a variety of purposes?
▪ What is your storage capacity?
▪ How will you tow your boat?
▪ What engine size do you realistically need?
-
We do not recommend this because whilst inflating the boat water might enter the tubes and over inflation is a serious risk, rather use a hand pump
